Vintage, antique and classic license plates for you bike.

Is there any advantage if you have an old say 1965 motorcycle to find that year plate for it and register it?

I am told yes, any ideas of pros and cons?

Also any ideas where you can get 1965 Vintage, antique and classic license plate?

I suppose it depends on the state, but here in Washington if you can find the style of plate that was issued in the year the bike was titled, you can enjoy a "Restored Vehicle" status from the Department of Licensing meaning permanent registration forever and ever. No yearly registration fees, no messing with tabs.

I would keep an eye out on Craigslist and eBay. And maybe m/c wrecking yards?

here in Minnesota , i have 1966 plates registered to my `66 CA77 .they are being used instead of a Classic plate. one time fee and good forever. the only bad is that they are a limited use like club activities , parades, etc..but i have never been hassled

I've been trying to locate Washington state vintage plates for my 66 Scrambler, but in the meantime I have a "Collector Vehicle" plate which was a one time regitration fee of $45.

I wish I'd kept plate that came on my bike in '63.
