Stuck nut!!!!
Stuck nut!!!!How do you get the four prong nut off the crank? I hope it's right hand threads. lol I didn't think it would be that tight. Any suggestions would help. Thanks guys

Matty
Re: Stuck nut!!!!It has normal threads. I use a flat faced chisel and hammer it off then on. ..............LM

Re: Stuck nut!!!!This thing feels like it's welded on. I made sur I bent every tab back and got a good grip on it. I put a scewdriver between the clutch hub to keep it from moving as my last resort, and it still won't move. I had to put a pair of vice grips on it for leverage. I'd put a torch on it but I want to live.

Matt
Re: Stuck nut!!!!Why are you taking it off? Did you split the case or do you just have the side cover off?
Re: Stuck nut!!!!I'd say you are doing it right but need to hit it harder. I've removed and installed many of them and I just knock the devil out of them. ............LM

Re: Stuck nut!!!!I need to split the case to replace trans parts. Do you know what the torque is on it? I figure It can't be much more than 50ft pounds. Thanks

Matt
Re: Stuck nut!!!!I don't know the torque but have sugested a way that most of us use to remove the nut. Good luck. ..............LM
