Need a photo of a battery tray on a CL-77

Post by eyedragaknee » Sun Jan 18, 2009 11:04 am

I need a photo of a battery box for the CL-77 if anybody has one apart or will in the near future. The PO for some reason, cut the battery box off of this bike. I need to make a new one. I believe it has brackets for the rectifier also.

VIN 10348XX range

Thanks

JR

Jr, here's a couple pics. If you aren't in a big hurry, I may be cutting this one off of the bike, as it will be turned into a vintage flat/street tracker. It also has mounts for the air cleaner.

In the first pic it looks like the brackets the battery band attaches to are welded? I know it's not like that on the CL72, wouldn't think it would be different on the CL77 'specially 'cause they updated the battery strapdown later and it needs the threaded holes... -dc

Early models the clips that the battery band hook into were bolted on, later model frames the bracket was welded onto the frame, as you see in the picture. Your frame needs the bolt on brackets. Nick at Ohio Cycle has the brackets that bolt on, LM may have them as well.

The early models (as you show) actually had/have a metal cover and a rubber cushion in it that was attached with a 6mm bolt on each side. ............lm
