Thanks man - unfortunately its just self etching primer but the army green will definitely be on one of my future projects. I was thinking the same thing once I started to put it back together.Gun wrote:dig the army green.
66 CB77 Cafe Raceryeah, it's pretty obvious from the pics that the green is no sort of finished paint, but it adds a bit of a WWII cycle feel to the superhawk.
I really like the cafe racer concept. I think my next one is going that route. Hopefully by then i've acquired a bit more knowledge and money! '65 CB77
'66 CB450k0 '93 HD FXR Made a little more progress on the CB. Rebuilt the wheels and added some rubber. Made a form and glassed up the tail section. Still need to finish it with Dyna and smooth everything out. The plan is to french in the tail light. We'll see how it turns out - if I Dont like it I'll mount a small retro round light with polished trim on the outside.
[/img] Thanks for the comments Dave - I found a guy in the area that had a mandrel exhaust bender. The guy was absolutely great and allowed me to pretty much have free run of his shop to graft the pipes onto the bike. It was pretty crazy a first when he said "sure just cut with the wet saw and then clean it up on the belt sander so you can tack it like you want it with the Mig" Needless to say I was blown away and have made a friend for life. Now I'm watching craigslist for a CT70 project for him. We made a pipe for each side out of a few bends and then made two new pipes out of two single tubes. Now I just have to decide whether or not I'll go with chrome, ceramic silver, or header wrap.
