Starter button/switch questions I get a click....CA77
Sounds like tyou installed the slide in carb backwards. The long slot should face where the pin is inside carb, and small cutout towards idle screw. Find a correct replacement starter magnetic switch, not a generic bike barn one. Have you checked for spark while kicking bike? If you have spark, try a shot of starting fluid.

That is the way I installed the carb slide, although thanks for the info so I know it's correct.
Next I'm gonna take apart the throttle at the grip as I had dissasmbled it a few times inpsecting the starter button and when the carb was removed and then re-installed it may need to be rechecked or adjusted if the throttle cable was twisted turned and pulled on. I noticed that was a tricky throttle assembly to get to sit right upon re-bolting down starter button assembly. From most of the people I spoke to (Ohio Cyclery, & old honda guys) most 12v universal starter relays are good for many many applications from ATV's to motorcycles so I don't think that is the problem. I really would like to know is if a bad condenser can stop a bike from firing????
Electrical problems?Hi
I am in the Milwaukee area. send me a PM and maybe I can help you out. I have a very busy schedule but maybe I can sneak a little time in some evening or weekend. Jon
You still there, Brew? Haven't disembowelled yourself over this, have you? Is you problem resolved? I mean, have you got the motor to spin over on the button? Obvious and fundamental questions: all the connections at the battery & solenoid are good? 3 wires at the +ve terminal -- starter (heavy), red & red/white?
Connect a jumper cable from somewhere on the motor (engine) to the battery -ve post; this will prove the earth return of the starter circuit. Keep us informed.
