Looking for a set of Superhawk rims. Nothing trashed but a little bit of surface rust is ok. Chome or aluminum.

Hubs and spokes not needed, just the hoops.

Thanks

I got a pair of new Union Cycle rims from TC (vintage_001) on eBay for $60 (Best Offer). Not for show or, leastways, for points bikes but, I have to say, I'm impressed.

Edit: Sorry, $65. vintage_001@yahoo.com, complete with spokes here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-CB ... QQtcZphoto
email him, he'll split.

Hello Steve,

Were the spoke angles correct on these rims? I have heard issues regarding this with the rims from certain vendors.

I'm not worried about points - I just want a smooth ride...

Thanks for the link!

Hey byrdman,

I've not got around to lacing my wheels yet, but I have compared the Union Cycle rims with the originals that are currently supporting my CB; the spoke angles look identical and the holes' sizes appear to be slightly larger when the new and the old are side by side.

I, too, have read reports, particularly concerning Apex Cycle's (Tom Day's) rims, about the incorrect spoke angles. He apparently recommends opening the holes out with a drill! That would, of course, remove the chrome plating thus exposing mild steel to the elements; completely undesirable, unacceptable and a total lack of respect! It's certainly put me off buying anything more from Apex.

Regards,

Steve
