Tires and Badges

Post by garycarl » Sun Sep 07, 2008 7:56 pm

Hello, I am a new 305 dream owner. I've enjoyed the information on this site. My new-to-me bike needs some new tires and I'd like to find some badges that looked the same as the old ones. My bike is a 1963. The part of a badge I do have reads Honda Dream 300. I've been reading that there are some reproductions but I haven't seen a recent followup on them. I understand I could get them from Honda, but would they say dream 300 or just Honda?

Also I'm having trouble finding white wall tires. I've looked at JC Whitney and don't find them, also I've been to sites that sell the Chin Shins (sorry about the spelling) but I don't find the exact tire size listed as a white wall. Also do you use the same tire both back and front?

This bike will not be an every day driver.

Thanks for your help

Gary

I copied/pasted this from a previous post...I contacted Ray a few weeks ago and he said dream badges were undergoing final touches at molders...like you i want the authentic looking dream badges for my 62 cb77 and am willing to wait awhile for them. if you go to "search" at top of middle column above and enter "badge" you'll find a bunch of info...thanks, jlw

I just received a set of "Honda 300" repro badges from Ray at RRHByrne@aol.com and they are pretty decent. They were $50.00 including mounting screws and shipping. He says he has plenty of CB/CL77 badges, CB/CL72 are available soon and the Dream badges are at the molders. The mounting hole pattern was about 1/2 a hole short so I had to elongate them (he ususally does that) but it's unnoticeable after installation
