The 1967 CL77 didn't have them. HONDA changed the top and bottom of the gators so they weren't necessary. .............lm

fork gator clamps

Good, then I wont have to worry about them. But I am curious, not second guessing you by any means, because you are a brilliant person and a lot of help to all of us on here, but, the bike I have is titled a 67, has the big horse shoe front seat mount was a 2 owner bike and has been idle in a friends garage for at least 20 years and I fianally aquired it. It had gator clamps on it. Maybe someone put them on there, I don't know, but I had a decent set off an early scrambler with steel lower legs and thought I'd use them. Well you know where I'm going with this, the steel lower style clamps were smaller in diameter than the others on the aluminum lowers. However the guy I bought it from for what ever reason had an extra set of complete legs minus the gators. Strange huh. Thanks for the info, I'll leave them off, they do seem to stay fine without. One other question is the kickstand (not the centerstand) supposed to be black or natural? Thanks for the help LM!! Nutt

If your bike is actually a 67 it didn't come with gator clamps and I assumed you knew the actual year of issue. Tis possible you have a 66. The early gator is totally different at the ends. The side stand was zinc plated. ..............lm
