I've recently inherited my grandfather's '69 Dream 305. I'm in the middle of troubleshooting some other electrical issues (I'm sure I'll post more questions tomorrow if I'm still stuck) at the moment, but was curious- what is the red light in the speedometer housing supposed to indicate? I see a "MeterLamp" on the schematic, but don't know if that's the red light in there or the backlighting for the odometer...
Thanks!!
David
Speedometer Light?speedo lightShould be for your high beam indicator. It should light up when headlamp high beam is on.

Re: Speedometer Light?'69 Dream 305 ya say.
You will find a RED light in the speedo which is to show when the High Beam is on. There will also be another light and is on the right/front of the headlight bucket and may be RED or BLUE/GREEN and it is to show when the engine is in Neutral. ...........lm
RIDE IT DON'T HIDE IT!
Well it's titled as a '69 anyway, would really like to know the production year though. I read on another post a date could sometimes be found on the rectifier or harness, but I haven't ran into either yet. Both the engine and frame serials are 1032xxx (can't remember the rest at the moment, but I remember they were about 200 apart). Thanks for the hi-beam info!
