1972 ? Cl72

Post by cbxmountainman » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:48 pm

Probably a late 1962 CL72 from looking at the small front/rear brakes and the steel front fork lowers. Actual year should be on a tag UNDER the gas tank on the wiring harness. Could have been sold in 1968 even as Honda used to just title them as the year sold regardless of actual build dates. That's why the engine/frame numbers are needed for the correct part

I think the serial number shows it's a '63, that's why I posted it. I think it looks pretty good compared to my '63 that has everything but the frame and motor from ~'65. The humor is the guy thinks CL72 means a 1972 CL !?!?!.

Funny...., it's back. Supposedly sold on June 16th for $3050. Now that he lists both serial numbers "Engine number is CB77E-1017045" it may not be considered as "historical" as one would expect, considering it's coming from a museum...... I chuckle to myself... hope everyone's doing well. -dc
