Torquing CA77 Head Bolts
Install the one you have out and compare the amount of threads. I've at times had to 3 nut to remove studs. .......................lm

Reinstalled the right one. When fully seated the end of it is about 1/8" lower that the two center studs and the left one is about 3/16" to a 1/4" higher than the center studs.
Tried 3 nuts, still no joy. Locked them all together as tight as I could and when I start turning on the bottom one to back out the stud they all turn once I really apply pressure.
The corner studs will be shorter than the center ones with the top removed.
As I recall the problem was "won't torque to value. So I'd say that if it won't come out I'd use a tool "I have several" and cut off/remove any excess thread length of that stud and get back to where ya was headed. Those corner studs have been one problem or another since I've been working on these engines but it's usually they break off when ya try to remove them. ...................lm

I have carborundum wheels for my air tools and DREMEL makes a cut off wheel for their tools. ..........lm
