1968 Scrambler your thoughts?

Post by deaddog » Tue Jun 17, 2008 6:32 am

My friend is looking into buying this 1968 Scrambler 305. It runs good with 12,000 miles chrome and paint very good shape and no oil leaks. It has a clear title. Asking price is $1,500. I told him it seems like a good deal.
He is hesitant about what it is worth. Feedback from this form will help determine if this is a good deal. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Seems to me that the only thing is that it's not a 67-68 exhaust due to the fact that there is no muffler. has the seam in the tank indicating 67-68. Really nice bike and a great deal at $1500. If he doesn't want it, let me know and I will drive down from N. C. and buy it!!. It'll look good with my other four.

Forgot to add that the seat cover is incorrect, but can easily be replaced by a competent shop. Seen covers on Ebay.

Thank you, that is the kind of input I am looking for, especially anything that I can use to pick the bike apart. I know the pictures are not the best, but not much I can do with cell phone camera.

Have your Pal check e-bay and see what these things are going for. really nice ones go for $6000+ and ones in good shape go for $3-4000

The seller could put it on e-bay and get double what he is asking. For 1500 dollars and only a few minor flaws, seat cover, pipes and maybe handlebars. I think it's a really good deal for as clean as it looks. All of the hard to find parts are present.

How does it run?

I wouldn't stall too long, as someone who knows what it is will snap it up at that price. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for your input. If I had the money I would not hesitate to buy it. She runs real good the pipes are a bit loud and the tires seem larger then I think stock tires would be. That being said…….
I am trying to convince my friend that this is a good deal and these responses should help support that.
