Thread repairThread repairHas anyone used this? I am thinking about trying it on my drain plug threads.
http://www.permatex.com/products/automo ... Repair.htm I second that answer. I've used that Permatex product with near disasterous results on the oil filter retainer bolt to a Honda 750. The product failed, the oil filter, & cup blew off. I lost all of my oil, and rear wheel traction after driving through the oil, causing me to dump the bike right on the entrance ramp of an Interstate highway. I believe if this failure had occured on the highway, I wouldn't be here to make this post. "Helicoil" is the only way to go, however beware of the generics. "Helicoils" firmly lock themselves in place. The generics I've tried, unscrewed with the bolt or plug, and are difficult to reinstall. You'll never have that problem with "Helicoils". Stripped threadsHelicoil or Keensert which is a solid thread insert. See link.
