What about those foot pegs?

I've ridden my not-so-good-running CB77 around and I found someting that irritates me almost as bad as it not running so good. It's the foot pegs...the driver's foot pegs like to flip up and I have to dink around with my foot to get it back down as I ride. What was Honda thinkin'? Any suggestions as not to jerry rig it to stay down? Thanks, Larry

Are the return springs installed? It shouldn't be doing that. Check the other side and compare assemblies and go easy on Mr. Honda!

Hope you figure it out.

No springs on the CB77 but there are on the CL77 Ron. ...........lm

Well, That's what I get for not doing my research. It's good to be humbled now and again....


That being said I looked through my Bill Silver's book and did not see any pictures or read anything odd about the foot pegs, I did however look through a bunch of images on the internet and it appears the peg mounts to a bracket that in turn bolts to the frame. It appears the the peg itself does pivot, I couln't see anything close up so my best un-educated guess is your foot peg is just plain worn out.

Let me know what the fix is, now that I have some time invested in this I'm a little curious. Hope this helps a little.
