What Are These?

Post by ZillahBill » Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:08 pm

Putting the engine back together and in the bag returned from the machinist that had the points cover and bolts were these two thin walled tubes, 11/16th long and 7/16th wide. If I have made a bonehead mistake it won't be the first time and I'm sure they weren't put in the bag by mistake. I thought I made sure all guide pins between sections on top end were present and accounted for but now I am really questioning. Do you recognize these parts? Thanks, Bill

Could it be these on the upper engine case?

No, I know these were on the engine case. These do not have beveled ends the way knock pins do and don't seem as thick walled as a knock pin.I have gone through the parts manual but can't find them. I know a lot of you are thinking why don't I just ask the machinist? He can be pretty hard to get in touch with but I will try. I was hoping someone would be able to say, "Yeah, I know what they are." I know some of you guys know every part on the CB77. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bill

Wild guess: Someone's attempt to fabricate homemade knock pins.
