CM77E Cases

Post by BowlingSS » Fri Jun 23, 2023 11:01 am

Rebuilt the top end of my 1965 CM77 and the transmission is having problems. What is the easiest way to get the bottom case off? There is a lot of white glue holding them together.
Thanks.

Ugh, nightmare. Only had this once, when I was much younger and more inclined to get mediaeval...
Is the stuff hard as nails or soft and flexible?

Cheers, Pete

It is like a silicon. It is not real hard. Cases are stuck really good.

Perhaps, just perhaps, sustained gentle pressure applied equally each side to separate the cases at front or rear might open up a gap enought to get, say, a scalpel blade started. Silicone tends to be quite heat resistant but petrol (gas) can attack it, trouble is getting it into the joint.
Sorry but I'm just guessing now - good luck.
Cheers

CM77 is a Honda model not familiar with. Can someone provide a description?
