Here is the scenario. I picked up my third CL77 today. My plan is to make two decent bikes out of the three in the garage. I have gotten one running really well after some real problems with carberation and ignition. (http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2492). This bike has matching frame and motor numbers and is 1967 with a title. In the extra parts box, I got original 305 tank badges, two new in the box air filters and a bunch of decent spares to include usable connecting tubes. I also found a great set of used but still pliable tank pads. The bike is showing around 13 K on the the odometer and according to the former owner has been sitting since 1976. I also have all of the side covers, points cover, and alternator cover. The former owner says he installed rings around 10K while the bike was still on the road. Now, it locked up tighter than a bug's behind. I have it soaking with WD40 and a little Chem Dip in the cylinders and I figure I will give at least a week before I try to kick it over. The bike has apparently been sitting exposed to Florida sea air and humidity for a long time. This is my first stuck ring bike, any further suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

Try a mixture of kerosene and Liquid Wrench. Let it soak for five/six days and see if this loosens her up. A little heat on the outside of cylinders may help also. JMHO

She is still locked up and I have tried every mixture known and heat. I know the head has got to come off and the soft wood and mallet routine after more soaking is the next step. I have been a little busy with tear down of the first parts bike. Plenty of notes, lots of pictures, and some pretty big hits on the credit card for parts so far. Most enjoyment I have had in a long time. Just a couple of shots attached. (I have licensed first ugly CL77 after I bought and rode it to work the other day. All of the cursing and wrench throwing was worth it after it was finally dialed in. Bike runs great, but still as ugly as a mud fence. It's on the list to get pretty also.)
