After full dissassembly i believe the only crucial part i need for my dream is the lower chain case, Part# 40520-271-000Z. I've looked around and have been unable to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks !
she might look abit weathered, but with a new battery, plugs, and oil she turned right over and purred! mhill

They show up on eBay quite often, either a top or bottom half sold individually or being sold as a set. Set up an eBay search with email notification and just wait. But be prepared, they can be expensive.
In the above picture have you already begun removing some parts? Seems you also need the rotor cover, points cover and at least a right side carb dust shield. All of which I see on eBay quite often (and again, expensive too).
thanks for the reply ! yes, already had begun some minor dissassembly, the parts that you mentioned. They are all in decent shape, with the exception of the points cover screws ( damn JIS ) which the previous owner apparantly tried replacing with new ISO metric bolts ( used shorter length, 2 or 3 threads engaged, totally fouling the threaded hole. Fortunately i am production manager at a medium sized machine shop and have the capabilities to recreate the unobtainable JIS bolts and screws.
Am setting up the ebay search reminder now. Thanks again !
