Motor AssemblyMotor AssemblyHi, is it possible to re-install the cylinder head and head cover on the motor while the rest of the motor is in the frame? If I recall there are to rear lower motor mounts and then there are the upper mounts near the head....Just curious if anyone has removed/installed the head while the motor is still in the frame.
Thankkkkkks! It might be possible but you will have to remove the top rear mount as well to tilt the engine down enough. Even then you've got to get the head off those long studs.
To get to that point you will have all but the lower rear mounts in place so the engine is 90% out..... G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

I am installing new rings currently and unfortunately one of the oil rings was broken during install. A tiny piece snapped off between the oil vents. Now, i have .25 pistons and orders these rings : 13020-275-000 which state specifically for the CB77. Upon more research I am finding part number: 13020-266-000 listed for the CA77 for much cheaper. Will these rings fit too? both kits are .25 over. I am reading that the CA and CB have different pistons, etc... just curious simply about rings. Thanks! I think that the 266 oil rings will fit but the compression rings are thicker.
