Post by golfmanmatt » Sun Sep 25, 2005 6:11 pm

How do you get the four prong nut off the crank? I hope it's right hand threads. lol I didn't think it would be that tight. Any suggestions would help. Thanks guys

Matty

It has normal threads. I use a flat faced chisel and hammer it off then on. ..............LM

This thing feels like it's welded on. I made sur I bent every tab back and got a good grip on it. I put a scewdriver between the clutch hub to keep it from moving as my last resort, and it still won't move. I had to put a pair of vice grips on it for leverage. I'd put a torch on it but I want to live.

Matt

Why are you taking it off? Did you split the case or do you just have the side cover off?

I'd say you are doing it right but need to hit it harder. I've removed and installed many of them and I just knock the devil out of them. ............LM

I need to split the case to replace trans parts. Do you know what the torque is on it? I figure It can't be much more than 50ft pounds. Thanks

Matt
