Interesting point, I guess since those "rollers" don't roll, there would only be contact marks and wear from the sprocket on one side. You could turn it inside-out to even it up! Is "pin" chain what I have in the picture? By the way, I've looked at a number of chain sources, and I don't see any 219 chain with actual rollers - its all pin or bushing chain. You sure you got rollers that roll on your cam chains?

Yes I'm sure.
I've been doing engines for others since 1992 and NEVER seen a pin cam chain.
Just ones with a roller over the pin.
Worked on or just disassembled for parts somewhere near 80 engines maybe more and still have apx. 20 others.
The chains I use have a pin with a roller on it and I insist that a new one is installed every time.
Why would you not replace that chain?
A good chain which can have a link cut out and a master link installed usually costs apx $45.00 total. .............lm

That's hard to argue with! I guess mine was replaced at one time, and I'll replace it again. PM me with a good source if you can. I appreciate all of your time and experience on this!
