Anyone see a case with punch marks before that were put there to I assume to hold seal in?Photo is alittle blurry but you can see them around the seal.

That was/is used as ya say to hold the seal in place.
Not a HONDA engine item when the bike was issued for sale. ..........lm

LM-Was this a common practice? This was the first time I had seen this on the 4 or 5 engines I tore apart.

One of those MYTHS as to what needed to be done in the time!. .............lm
