Left side not firing... I'm out of ideas...
I checked compression today, 150's both sides, throttle open, no choke, air filters removed.
Went through Ed's tune up instructions step by step, left side was warm but not as hot as right. Still died when right side plug boot removed. So some progress but not enough yet. Someone suggested a bad condenser, any thoughts?
Does it run on one cylinder under load or just at idle? When you rebuilt the carbs did you floss the jets with a strand of copper wire or just blow them out? Air cleaners still off? Squirt a little gas into left the carb throat ,while it's running, to see if anything changes. Try another new spark plug in the left side cylinder, that one may already be fouled.

I will be back working on the bike in a few days and try the suggestions you guys have mentioned.
By flossing the carbs with a copper wire, I am assuming you mean to remove the jets, air screws and so forth and running copper wire through the openings to clean the side walls. I did air blast them out, but I will try the copper wire when I am back in my shop. Would pipe cleaners work? I will also try a new/different plug, fingers crossed, the season is slipping away here in Wisconsin. Thank you, Clark
left sideHey Clark , Did you get it figured out yet ? I had the exact same issues and was very frustrated . Then one evening after work , I was having a beer and staring at it and realized the only thing it could be was the aftermarket carb kits I bought . I pulled the slides and put back in the original needles and BOOM she hasnt stopped running yet . Just a thought............ P.S. i am just a stones throw south and I also did the EDs tuneup and it worked great as a baseline. Good Luck , Mark
