It doesn't sound like you removed and inspectd your centrifugal oil filter. It seems what you did was remove your oil pump. The oil pump is on the underside of the motor and held by 6 bolts. There is a screen that goes over the pump and that's what you saw when you looked with a mirror. There are two gaskets used in the assembly. Oil pump, gasket, oil screen, another gasket and then it gets installed on the bottom case.wrencher wrote: took 6 bolts out of oil slinger and it was basically just a gear and was clean and free. The centrifugal filter is on the left side of the motor behind the oil filter cover.
