1966 Scrambler cl77 seat

Post by rattler » Wed Dec 07, 2011 11:40 am

A while ago, I purchased a 66 Scrambler, and plan on a restoration. Question is, did the seat for this year ever come in a "hump style". Thats what is on the bike, but I don't think it is an original design. I believe it should be flat. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you sir for your reply. I have lots of questions regarding this project. Were the original tank badges on a 66 Scrambler metal or plastic? I'm guessing metal. Also, did all 305's including Superhawks and Dreams use the same stator? If so, is there any trick to removal? I also have a 67 parts bike. I believe the stator is bad in a 65 Superhawk that I recently restored. I bought this bike new a lot of years ago, and am the original owner! Thanks again in advance

The original were Resin with "Honda 300".
The stators were "C72" (DREAM)early followed with "C72(L)"===Less magnetism
The CB/CL engines were "CB72" followed by "CB72(L)"
I use a removal tool with the proper threads (?) in the middle of the rotor.
To test the stator I use a VOM and read continuity from each of the 3 wires but not shorted the the aluminum case. ..................lm
