Changing Front Fork oil

Post by ZenBike » Tue Aug 26, 2014 2:26 pm

Hello Everyone
I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I am in the process of helping a friend restore/rebuild his 1964 CB77 SuperHawk. I am repainting the frame this week. I have drained the oil from the front forks and would like to know how to replace it. Do I simply "inject" oil through the drain holes? Also, what is the fluid quantity - how much oil do I put in? I have the original manual but it is quite useless in answering these questions. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Take the weight off the front wheel and remove the big chrome bolts at the top of each fork by the handlebar. 250cc's in each. I would also replace the crush washers at the drain bolts. They are available from Honda as 90543-273-000 or really any 6mm copper or aluminum sealing washer will do.
