I found the following while surfing and thought it might be of interest to some on the forum.
This bike was somewhat familiar to me eons ago, as I helped pit for it in the early 60's at a flat track race in Indiana.
After reading these articles, I had to start digging in the archives for a December 1962 issue of Cycle World. Quite a trip back in time!

This early Honda racer may interest some
Re: This early Honda racer may interest someI've known Kenny since the VJMC meeting in North Carolina and had the good fortune to visit with him at the Barber Museum meet this year. One super feller there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. ...............lm
Cates HondaLM,
Finally made contact with Kenny, and traded e-mails for several days. Got caught up on many of the players involved with the Cates Honda over the years. Most are still kicking. Looks like I may get to see the bike again at the VJMC Rally later this year and meet Kenny at the AHRMA races at Lincoln Trail Motocross (Casey, IL) in early summer. I had the honor of talking to Kenny about 6 months ago. He lives in Dawso Springs now I believe,(about 45 miles from me) at least thats where he has a small shop and his own small bike museum. Some great Whizzer bikes and some really nice Honda flat track racers. I got a one on one tour and we talked for about 2 hours. I could not believe all the old stock Honda parts he has on hand. From what I saw and by his own memory he was quite a flat racer back in the 60's and 70's. He still races some still but his age has made him cut back a little. Needless to say he has forgotten more about bikes than I'll probably ever know.
