Late CL77 clutch and front brake cable availability?

Post by Geeky160 » Thu Apr 06, 2017 5:34 pm

Hi, did anyone ever find a source for these cables? Parts # 45450-273-020 and 22870-273-020 for the clutch. I need to replace them this time around. Thanks

Does anyone have cables laying around? Why wouldn't CB77 cables work on my '67 CL77?

The answer is because the brake cable is different at the brake end. I think both may be shorter on the CB too because of the difference in the rise of the scrambler bars.

I am pretty sure he is looking for the cables without the built in adjusters. I only have the ones with the adjusters. I have never tried it but it might be possible to remove the adjusters with some careful Dremel work.

I could also have some made without the adjusters but I haven't seen much of a demand so far.

Yes, my '67 needs the ones without built in adjusters. I think I found the clutch NOS. I have a high bar set that had the adjusters. I went to shorten them and remove the adjusters but botched melting on of new ends. There's a place here that will put ends on so I still may go that way if I cant find the brake cable.

I can't believe more folks haven't asked about these cables. I would have thought there would be more demand.
