After waiting more than a week for the newly painted clutch cover to cure, I decided to install it today. New oil filter inspection port o-rings, new shifter shaft seal, new dry genuine Honda gasket and a thin coat of Hondabond on clean dry surfaces. I'll wait 'till tomorrow to add oil. If it still weeps....

Well, I added oil a few hours ago and no weeping from the clutch cover yet. I've installed the exhaust and remaining bits and I guess it's time to try to start it. Wish me luck ladies and gentlemen.

I'm happy - very happy - to report that the old girl started right up. I have a small gas weep at the carburetor. I don't know whether it's the bowl drain or a bowl gasket. Small problem. Still lots to do. I'll post a video when Photobucket will cooperate.

Edit to add: Sorry, Photobucket will just not accept my little video. If anyone can recommend an alternative site, I'd appreciate it.

Edit 2: Ok, I opened a Vimeo account and uploaded the video. Find it here:

Congratulations!!!!
I have Android and just the basic photos works for me.
You can link to it.. I should do that rather than use up the server space I suppose!!
Anyway. Glad that "weep" is gone. I was hoping you didn't blow it up with dynamite...
I like stock...
A few modern mods...

Thanks, Tom, that oil weep was making me crazy. Still lots of little things to do, but major progress was made today.
