CL77 Rear Shock Spring Retainers - Problem Solved

Post by Snakeoil » Sun Oct 23, 2016 11:06 am

I had a top retainer half shear on my original CL77 shock. Anyone got a spare?

Thanks,
Rob

I'm not sure I'm going to go with OEM retainers. I pulled the shock apart today and found the other retainer was cracked about half way around. I might machine new ones from stainless. These appear to be cast aluminum or Zamac.

I'll post some pics of the damage in a bit.

regards,
Rob

Problem solved. Machined new retainers for each shock. See the main forum section under suspension.

Thanks,
Rob
