Grease nipple removal
Grease nipple removalI'm getting ready to re-paint parts of my CB77 engine. I'd like to remove the grease nipples in the right crankcase cover. I've tried twisting and pulling. They have not budged.
Are they pressed in? Screwed in? Would it help to heat the casting? Re: Grease nipple removalThey're just pressed in, Phil. I've never had trouble getting them out, so I don't know what advice to give you. Heating seems a bit harsh to me. I don't have an uninstalled case to look at at the moment, look at yours to see if it might be gently tapped out from the inside - I just don't know.
Re: Grease nipple removalI just pull out the old ones with vice grip pliers and use a twist and pull motion. They are still available from Honda so I put new ones back in.
I made a little hollow punch to tap them back in. G
