Beginning RestorationEd
I am prepping the swing arm for powder coating and I have two bushing issues. First is the shock mount bushings. I wrecked one of them getting it out and cannot come up with a part number/source for a replacement. The other bushings are the brass (or steel?) ones that are at the pivot point of the swing arm. I don't think I can remove them without causing damage. They don't appear worn and I would like to leave them in if I can. I will post pics when I get home tonite. BTW, has that motor shown up yet? Thanks Paul
I have the steel ones (USED).
Usually fellers leave the shock ones in place and they survive the process. I have one somewhere around here. No engine yet. .......................lm
Paul,
Are you using Bill Silver's manuals? Reason I ask is because all of the part numbers are in that encyclopedia. Like I said, leave the swing arm ones, tape over them. And Ed is right regarding the shock arm bushings--leave them and I know, you already wrecked the other one. I had the book but I lent it to my brother in law because he is restoring a Scrambler as we speak otherwise I could get you a number. Sorry. 1974 Yamaha DT125 Enduro
