G-Man and revlover, Thanks to both of you for these leads. Not sure which would be best. I believe that the Honda 5016 within the part number indicates a 5mm thread of 16mm length (feel free to correct me). So if the threads are correct, this would work fine with some massaging. The mrmegapack screws looks good too. Thanks again. Mike

I believe that is correct. If you enlarge the photo, a tiny caption at the bottom reads: SCREW, OVAL 5 X 16.

As already said don't use an ISO screw, these bikes were built with JIS which in the case of M5 is different thread pitch.

Probably not.......I believe I see a dimple in the head which indicates the revised thread pitch.

Very confusing.....jis didn't vanish, it just changed to conform to iso in 1967 and the changed screws had a dimple in the head.

Just because someone advertises jis doesn't mean it is the "old" thread pitch. To make it more confusing, the old and new part numbers are the same, but the pitch not the same.

There is a 1967 service bulliten spelling it all out, probably buried in the forum somewhere.

You will probably need to call both of these vendors and verify the thread pitch since there appears to be no mention of it. My understanding is that 305 production ceased in 1967 and thus there was no need to revise the thread pitch since those models would not continue into the next year. All new production models i.e. CB350 would be made from ISO fasteners from the beginning, meanwhile Honda would empty their old parts bins on the discontinued models. It is possible the DSS screw photo is representative and not the exact part listed. I am very curious as to what you guys find out.
