A 1978ish left Honda Goldwing switch has everything needed and looks period, but it also has a lot of wires that would be exposed. I don't think they could all be hidden.

It does, indeed. There must be variations. This is what I was talking about:

Could be. Neither one has a starter button, so it's a trade-off. Winker switch or starter button.

I've spent many an hour searching for a good replacement for the Honda switch that doesn't have to be modified - I've even looked for a left hand switch with all the right components, thinking that the more modern placement of the winker switch at that location would be preferable. There must be something out there that ticks all of the boxes, but I don't know what it might be.

Graham and Seadog, Great help as usual from you both. I am wondering if Dennis found a way to incorporate a starter button in the SL90 unit. Perhaps the bottom half of the CB77 unit with the start button will mate with the top half of the SL90 unit? Would be very neat if that was the case.
Many thanks.

Interesting thought, Gordon, though it would be an expensive experiment if it didn't work.

It's easy. You just combine a CB77 bottom half with the SL90 top half......
