Well done, G. Loctite would be easier, but staking more sure. Don't know how you'd do it though. Safety wire? Tab washer? Both would take up more space in an already tight area.

While I am happy to show folks what is possible - I'm not sure if I have the time to take on doing these for other people at this moment. Always happy to help people in difficulty, though! :-)

If I did do anything it would probably be on some sort of exchange where people remove their roller and pins and I send back a re-worked wheel with bearing and bolt.

Yes - that's the only minor dilemma. Loctite would be good but I wouldn't want to have to use heat to undo the bolt.

Might be able to get away with one of these.....

Yes, I've seen those, but they're rather thick. Might work though. I was thinking more of a tab washer with a stake pin. It would require that you drill one more small hole though.

Nice to hear from you. Thanks for the thought. After pulling this apart I would like something that's more 're-usable' but I'll give it some thought.

Is that an original wheel or a modified primary?. ................lm

I need to clean everything up properly and remove some burrs here and there but I'm quite pleased with this. For once there were no horrible snags and the wheel spins nicely on its new roller bearing.

I haven't checked the fit in the cam tunnel yet but my bolt head is thinner than the little scoop at the other end of the pin so it should be OK. Ive used a grade 8 bolt so I think that this should be stronger than the original riveted part too. I just have to decide whether to use loctite on the bolt or find a way to stake it in place.
