Question about CB77 reproduction shocks from 4into1Question about CB77 reproduction shocks from 4into1Hi Everyone
My shocks are trash and I am looking at these http://4into1.com/replica-all-chrome-re ... -305mm-12/ it seems like a lot of money compared to the eBay shocks from Asia, but the shipping adds so much to the cost the price difference isn't that great and I don't want to wait a month for them to arrive. I see that 4into1 is based in San Francisco. Hopefully they would be shipped from inside the US. I am thinking about buying them then painting the top cover black. Has anyone bought these? Opinions and Advice are welcome. Thank You Steve Hi Steve
For a little bit more you could fit Ikon or Hago shocks. The 4into1 guys seem pretty professional. I have bought stuff from them. What is the matter with yours? It is possible to rebuild them if you have the time and the tools. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Thanks for the information. I am going to check those suppliers out. Here is a pic of the worser of the two shocks. For some reason I am not real excited about restoring them. I want to get started on the motor. KIMG0018 by Steve Steverinomeister, on Flickr KIMG0017 (2) by Steve Steverinomeister, on Flickr Steve
I can understand that! I managed to turn these. Into these.... But they are the super-rare ones for the '61 bike with aluminium covers and needed saving. You could probably buy several sets of Hagon shocks if you counted up my time..... G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

I have been kind of glad my bike isn't early or rare so I don't have the preservation of rare components weighing on me. I am going to read the thread for your shock resto to see the process. I hope to hear from Barry Bligh pretty soon. We are getting close to his 10 week estimate. I would like to get stainless pipes to go with them. I wouldn't even mind if they weren't chromed, but I would polish them.
S I went with 4into1's replica all chrome shocks. I checked Hagon's and Ikon's offerings and if I went with either of those I would have to come up with good covers. My plan is to paint the 4into1 shocks chrome top covers black to match my bike. Another benefit with 4into1 is they told me they will ship them today and I will have them in two or three days. I am trying to wrap up my suspension work so I can work on the motor.
I took another look at 4into1's website this morning to reread their description of my shocks and it appears I bought their last set.
