Front Fork OverhaulFront Fork OverhaulHi there,
Just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere to get my front forks serviced with new oil etc? Im in Wales but dont mind sending the forks through post if they are a good enough price/service. I have a Honda 305, I could probably just change the oil my self now that I come to think of it, il have to find out what weight oil will have to go in first. I inspected them deeply and the chrome seems to have pitted so I think i will need to send them for chroming. Anybody got any suggestions where to send them to?
http://www.pittedforks.co.uk/ seem to have a good reputation, I have no experience myself however.
I would first determine whether your forks need doing by maybe posting pictures on here, it would then be cost effective/necessary to dismantle for the re-chroming. 1977 CB400F

I'm pretty sure I used them to straighten and rechrome a pair of Kawasaki GPz550 forks a long while ago. I was impressed except for one detail. The edges of any grooves in the tubes were left quite sharp after grinding so I had to be careful replacing the seals. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

I managed to find a company that also have a good reputation, i would have to send the tubes in the post as they aren't anywhere near me but they have some good google reviews for chrome and they also specialize in motorbike suspension too. These are the guys http://www.brooksuspension.co.uk/motorc ... -legs.html they charge £139 for a pair to be re-chromed. The link you posted pitted forks charge £165 so these guys are cheaper which is always a bonus!
