Squealing noise around stator and slow return to idlesSquealing noise around stator and slow return to idlesI've recently discovered a squealing noise while trying to diagnose some problems I'm having with my '66 CB77 with a rebuilt head. Apparently its coming from or behind the stator and I feel like I'm causing more damage every time I let her get hot. Please help!
The other problem I'm having is a slow return to idle (lean running conditions, maybe?) Heres what I've done up to this point: 1. Set mixture screws to 1 1/2 2. Fixed air leaks 3. Clear fuel lines to verify fuel flow 4. Timing and advance at 3500 rpm 5. Verified slides are straight, true and operate the same Please help! Stator noiseYes! Common problem! I didn't see the slots, but now I use loctite. I've had this same problem. GG
Pulled rotor, attempted to tighten screws but they went no where, shaved sharp edges, and squeal or "squeak" still exists. Can't really spot where the sound is coming from, but it doesn't sound like the rotor. It sounds the same on both sides of engine. I'll adjust the cam chain and try again
