1965 CA77 DREAM 305 should they only have 1 carburetor
I've owned way too many bikes from the 50's to 80's and I don't think I've ever had a bike that the throttle would return on it's own. They've all required at least a little twist to get it to come back, but all of them were buttery smooth.
I replied in your other thread roadrunner, but I would start with your timing adjustment and valve clearances before tickling with the carburetor. Always the last line of defense. 1964 CA72

ca77 dream305thanks for the info.good advice i guess you go step by step.
Re: dream ca77
i hadn't realized,do you know anything about throttle's i took my grip off and cleaned the tube and the throttle still wont spring back. the cable doesn't have any way to adjust it there.thanks so much for your help this is my first restro.
There is a throttle return adjustment on the underside of the starter button mount. It's a set screw with a lock nut. Mine is completely gone and I get a decent recoil on the throttle.
ca77 dream305i see where the screw was & i don't have the starter button either.you don't happen to know how to time the bike without a timing lite,i cleaned the plugs & set the points but i don'y have a timing lite.did you go pointless?
ca77 dream305yes i can get my hands on a 12volt bulb & wire the trick is what do i do?this is like McGyver stuff.
