Alternative mufflers for a CA77Alternative mufflers for a CA77I picked up a 1967 CA77 with no mufflers that I intend to turn into a rider. The price of replacement mufflers is insane so I'd like to go after-market but most sites have a "model lookup" for finding parts and don't go back to 1967.
I am thinking of hotdog mufflers. Anybody used after-market mufflers? Which ones did you get? Thanks!
Hi Dianne, These sound really good and "deep". I put the EMGO 80-84034 mufflers on mine. I bought them on Ebay for about $125 with shipping for the pair. (they cost a bit more now) You have to make sure you get the rear bolted on good so they don't move. The front clamps are tight but leak a tiny tiny bit. I am thinking of making a thin shim to close up that tiny bit. But this is probably not really necessary.

Now working/riding on my 1965 CA77 Dream...
Yes, you mentioned this to me about shimming with a Soda (pop) Can in another post... I now just have to DO IT! HAHA!! I figured when I take it apart I would shim it better. For now? well, it works pretty good! Jim
Now working/riding on my 1965 CA77 Dream... Thanks Jim! My EMGO mufflers came in yesterday and I was trying to figure out how the heck to support the muffler. Two bolts in the muffler is a more simple and elegant solution than the bracket ideas I was playing around with!
