Oil seals HELLOil seals HELLCan any one help my 1964 CB77 ENG No 102472 has a oil leak from the right hand side now this has been going on for so long ALL oil seals have been changed lots of times I could write a book about it, I now think it is coming from the crankshaft oil seal.
What I want now is to replace yet again the right crankshaft 91201-259-00 one parts list says size is 32 x 65 x 7.5 another says 32 x 65 x 6.5 in now is a 32 x 65 x 6.5 not a genuine Honda but a modified std oil seal. I understand this oil seal is a special oil seal with a tab on it and the seal diverts oil down to the starter sprocket. I wish to purchase a STD oil seal in the UK but unable to find the sizes stated above could I use a 32 x 65 x 8 ? or a 32 x 65 x 7. If so any one know were I can get one or two. Please do not reply saying it maybe clutch pushrod or others as I have changed the clutch push rod and the oil seal at least 3 times, also have sent for oil seals from Canada twice and from the USA so no more from out side the UK. Thanks. EDIT just seen this on EBay http://www.ebay.ie/itm/NOS-HONDA-C72-C7 ... 1035749926 would this do ? Mike

Re: Oil seals HELLNo.
That is the seal for the output shaft with totally different dimensions. As you are replacing seals have you. Looked at the outside end of the clutch release for grooves? Replaced the seal in the starter sprocket? Is it flush in the sprocket? I do find the DREAM shows a 7.5 thickness and CB shows a 6.5. Not sure what that's all about but I wouldn't go thicker than 7.5. The seal seals the shaft and the oil to the starter sprocket comes through the center of the shaft and out a hole in the shaft. Best of luck. ..................lm
