Many thanks to this forum! Time to put it together.........Many thanks to this forum! Time to put it together.........Hello all, I don't post much here but I do have to thank you guys for all the helpful info. After 5 years....4 cl77's Bill silver's resto guide and lots of e-bayin I'm ready to ride. One of the 4 cl's was the frame with clear title was not easy to find for me. It was badly rusted after it was sandblasted (twice) filled and painted it looks new. All the black parts were painted DuPont black base coat clear coat. The silver is Mazda fleet silver tank, fenders and side covers. Only thing rattled on is 1403 on the forks and engine covers with DuPont clear. I was told to wait 90 days before gassing up to prevent paint problems on clear. I could go on and on.....I'm ready to install the motor so it's back to work. I'd love to here tips and info from the pro's. I will post more pic's when assembled. Thanks again forum!!
Good looking project..............sanitary motor! Suggestion.........when ready to install the motor from the side with the frame in the upright position, I wrap the frame with shop-towels and lay a light carpet or heavy towel under the motor (oil drain plug removed) to help slide it in. Be sure to remove the upper mount before installing..........with one or both lower-rear bolts in place (not snug) allow the motor to sag onto the wrapped frame to then wiggle the upper mount into place. It can be done after the bottom motor mount is installed.......but more difficult. Be sure the condenser is in place. I don't snug anything until all mounting bolts are in place. Having a helper to steady everything is a big plus.
Thanks again everyone. http://s1056.photobucket.com/component/ ... x9ewqt.jpg
