Steverino's CB77
centre stand hole.Hi, its looking good, did you repair the centre stand hole, looks a little on the large size, you will have a very loose stand if you don't do. i made a little paper pattern, so as to get it it the right position both sides.. enjoying your posting.
Center Stand mount wear.I've never such an odd point of wear on a Honda before. This center stand mount just appears to me as not having a wide enough bearing surface for the load. Is this a common problem on the CB72/77's? It seems like it would be.
I think I'm going to build the mounting holes back up with my mig welder and direct a lot of cold air on it to keep from cooking my powder coat. Steve
This is not really a bearing at all. It is just that people do not tighten up the shoulder bolts properly or inspect them. The bearing is actually in the stand itself and the shoulder on the bolt should butt up solidly to the frame. I am tempted to make an improved pivot by drilling out and threading inside the bolt and using a high tensile cap screw to hold it in place. I've not found one yet that isn't worn..... I received an update from DSS regarding my rim and spoke order. I pasted a copy below. I have moved away from the ledge. Hello Steve Thank you for your e-mail. For your information when you purchase from our website you see the live stock of both our US and UK stock. The wheel rim was the only part which was being supplied from our Uk store and is due to arrive @ the US warehouse on Friday. Sorry for the delay and we are working with our software company to make the time scale clearer. Best regards Matt
