I can move it by tapping gently on a piece of soft pine. Probably grunge underneath. Have to be patient to keep it square to the tube.
Again - pen. oil and hot air, but that is for tomorrow.
What do you think about that spring length?

I got the ring off and cleaned without damage.
The chamfer was facing down. I would think it should face up to trap the snap ring ???
