Is my motor crooked? Is my motor crooked?I noticed this a while black. I haven't driven very fast since last installation. Should I attempt to correct it?

The CB & CA engines hung from the frame without a down-tube and it wasn't noticeable that the engine is offset probably for rear chain alignment, the CL was then developed with a stronger down-tube frame for off-road use and the offset appeared.
This concerned me also, the CL72 I have had a damaged top tube which twisted the steering head, after I had it straightened I tried a dummy engine in it for peace of mind, even though the engine slotted straight in to all the mounting points without effort I was surprised to see the offset. 1977 CB400F

Re: Is my motor crooked? As I look at the pic I see a early head and 1967 tappet covers.
Any idea?. .............lm
Re: Is my motor crooked?I bought this bike as a basket case. Two motors in boxes, one with a busted motor mount boss. The other stuck beyond belief. I paid the local vintage motorcycle salvage guy $300 to make one good motor and he kept the leftovers. He did a pretty good job except for the head gasket didn't have a fire ring. Made me think I had the oil leak at the spark plug syndrome. When I rebuilt the top end last summer, the new head gasket fixed it. The numbers on the crankcase are within 100 so I am happy. Didn't know the head was of another vintage though. '67 CL77 (337, gears X'd)
