Stuck fork pistons on CL77Stuck fork pistons on CL77After removing the lower circlip that retains the piston, the piston does not slide out. It is not budging, I have used penetrating oil, and heat to no avail. Is there something I am missing during the disassembly?
Are they steel lowers or aluminium?
Do the bush slide at all or are they jammed as you try and remove them. On the steel lowers, people often try and attach the fender with over-long bolts. This puts a little pip on the inside of the tube and won't let the bush out. Sometimes you can force the bush out but it will put a score in the bush. I have managed to use a dremel with a long shaft grinding bit to get in there and on other occasions I have drilled right through the bolt hole to get rid of the pip.
