305 Dream Clutch

Post by mason123h » Thu Nov 13, 2014 8:39 pm

Hello all, I have a 1964 CA78 Dream and after installing a new clutch cable on the bike I have found that the when I pull in the clutch lever the lever does not return to the unactivated position. My first thought was to replace the spring on the clutch actuator arm.
Would there be any other reasons why the cable would not be returning? Would bad springs in the clutch itself be the issue?

Thanks for any help!

Did you adjust it at the right side cover? Did you take the side cover off? If so you might have lost the ball bearing that belongs in the actuator.

Yeah I adjusted it at the side cover. Where is that ball bearing at? Is it directly inside the actuator where the rod rests? because there is a circular indentation in the bottom of the actuator that doesnt have a ball in it and I'm thinking that is where it should be.
Thanks for the help!

Yes, it pushes on the end of the rod.
