rebuildrebuildNew owner of a barn find 305 Dream that last ran in 1980. After a carb rebuild, points and plugs it made it's first trip, only to have the left piston wrist pin seize on the connecting rod. Any thoughts on that? While I,'m in there replacing the piston and cam chain and roller what else should I check or replace?Cam bearings?Oil pump? Fair mechanical skills, new to Hondas.
Thanks
A valuable lesson learned there, if you know something hasn't run in over 30 years strip, examine and rebuild before running it, next time it may be something after the clutch. Starting an old engine is okay that will give an idea on points to look for in the strip down.
