Stupid newbie questionsStupid newbie questionsHi Fellas,
Great site you have here. I've been rebuilding little hondas for a little while, but I have finally picked up a Dream. I've been looking for awhile, an I finally got a decent 1967 CA77. The bike runs, but has little power and the engine makes a lot of noise (not the good kind.) I am planning on having the engine rebuilt by a local shop. I was wondering if the other 305 engines were the same? Is a Superhawk engine the same as a Dream, how bout a Scrambler? Thanks! Before I tore into the engine, I wanted to know more about the availability of replacement parts. It would be easier to find stuff if all the motors were the same. Is it difficult to find parts for an engine rebuild? The guy I was going to have do the work doesn't normally work on vintage bikes so he isn't sure if I will have a problem in this area.
Thanks! engine parts are fairly easy to find . the internals are pretty much the same . try Ebay and places like Ohio Cycle
i believe there are people on here that can help you with parts too.maybe someone else will jump in with some suppliers while the engine is easy to work on , i would recogmend getting getting a shop manual..i have one from Clymer's
A good parts manual is a must for finding the correct parts one can be found on this web site on a CD it has been a must for me to find the correct parts and to talk to others when on the phone. a picture is worth a thousand words but having the correct part number is worth it's Wight in gold to.
