Will not start

Post by bojangles » Tue Jun 03, 2014 11:29 am

My 305 just stopped running at the end of the driveway. It started on the first kick prior to that. There are 2 small tubes running out of the bottom of the carbs. (Not the larger tubes that go into the carbs). One small tube is hanging free. Where is it attached to? Thanks

The gas was turned on...... Would a Honda Scrambler not start if one fuel line is blocked and no gas running to one carb?
Thanks

Well, certainly it would try to run but you'd probably figure it out soon enough with only one side firing. However...start simple. On my 66 Scrambler, once I hit the reserve mark...she's gonna act like it's completely outta fuel. Looking into the tank, you'd see what looks like sufficient fuel, but looking closely, the main tube is above the fuel level. Flip it to reserve and all is well. See if there is fuel flowing out of the bowl's when you crack the drain screw open. After ck'ng the basics, move to battery condition (is the head light bright without the engine running?), spark, etc. you'll eventually come across the culprit.

We'll I have done everything you suggested. But there is still very weak spark. Could it be the coil and where do I purchase a coil?
Thanks

I would check on the points before replacing the coil.
